Resale disclaimer

Important information about the resale market for coins and precious metals.

Last updated: July 2026

Read this before you buy. These are collectibles. No one, including us, can promise what your coin will bring on resale, and it may be less than you paid.

1. What You Are Buying

United Metals Exchange sells coins, currency, and precious metals as collectibles, meant for personal enjoyment and the building of a collection. Nothing we sell is offered or promoted as an investment, a security, or a retirement product, and UME gives no investment advice of any kind.

2. What No One Can Promise

UME makes no representation, warranty, or guarantee about the price any item will command if you resell it, or that it can be resold at all. Collectible values ride on supply, demand, collector appetite, and the underlying metals, and all of those can fall as easily as rise. The retail price you pay also carries sourcing, handling, insurance, and overhead, and can sit above the coin's melt value or its immediate resale value, sometimes by a wide margin.

3. Retail and Wholesale Are Different Numbers

Physical coins and metals trade with a spread between what dealers charge (ask) and what dealers pay (bid). Sell a piece soon after buying it and you should expect to receive less than you paid, possibly far less, even on a day when metals prices have not moved.

4. We May Not Buy It Back

UME has no obligation to repurchase anything it sells. If UME chooses to make a repurchase offer, that offer reflects wholesale conditions at that moment and is set at UME's sole discretion.

5. Selling Takes Time

No active resale market is assured for any given coin at any given moment. Turning a collectible back into cash can take real time, and sometimes a lot of it.

6. Grades Are Opinions

Grading is a judgment call. A grade UME assigns or refers to is an opinion, and another dealer or an independent grading service may land somewhere else, which can change what a coin is worth on resale.

7. Yesterday Is Not Tomorrow

A coin, a series, or a metal having climbed in the past tells you nothing certain about its future. Markets that rose have fallen before and will again.

8. What Your Purchase Means

Buying from UME means you have read and understood this Resale Disclaimer, you are purchasing collectibles for your personal collection, you had the chance to run the decision past your own independent advisors, and you are not leaning on any statement from UME about future value, resale price, or liquidity.
